Sourcing
Wherever possible, we base our reporting on primary sources — official statements, government and institutional data, company disclosures, and established news organizations. When we reference reporting from another outlet, we credit that outlet and link to the original source. We do not present speculation, rumor, or unverified social media claims as confirmed fact.
Explainer Content
A significant portion of what we publish is explainer content: articles designed to give background, context and analysis on ongoing stories or recurring topics, rather than simply restating a headline. These articles are researched using multiple public sources and are written to help readers understand a topic in depth, not just the latest development.
Authorship
Articles are credited to their individual author where applicable. Articles produced collaboratively or from wire-style reporting are credited to the Newstod Editorial Team. We do not publish content under fabricated author identities.
Corrections Policy
We take factual accuracy seriously. If an error is identified in a published article:
- We review the claim against original sources as quickly as possible.
- If a correction is warranted, we update the article and note the date it was last revised.
- For significant factual errors, we add a visible correction note within the article explaining what was changed and why.

Updates to Developing Stories
For ongoing or developing stories, we update articles as new, verified information becomes available rather than publishing a large number of near-duplicate articles. The "last updated" timestamp reflects when an article was last revised.
